the agony of making the right decision...

Photographer Luis Zeno Kuhn

Making the right decision can be challenging, especially in a world full of options and uncertainty. For example, I was recently faced with the difficult ;-) decision about which haircut suits me best ;-). Do you know this?

My hair has grown from very short to shoulder length in the last few months. So I've been through all the hairstyle phases and have been able to get something out of each one. Nevertheless, I was recently faced with the decision: long or one of the short haircuts from before? I was at a loss - which rarely happens to me.

I can usually see what suits others straight away, but I'm often undecided myself. I lack the necessary distance to see myself impartially from the outside.

So, for the first time, I asked for help in a big way. From my community on Instagram :-).

I posted eight photos on IG showing my hair in eight different stages from short to long and asked my community which haircut they thought suited me best.

On the photo you can see the result of testimony!

Almost 60 percent thought the wavy bob was the best. Unfortunately, it's not wavy when unstyled - you need a curling iron for that. Nevertheless, the length is undoubtedly easy to style and suits my narrow face. So now I have a BOB again :-).

Thank you, dear community!!!

Of course, deciding which haircut to get is not life-deciding. But what to do when there are more difficult and important decisions to make, such as the right education, studies, career, relationship, etc.?

There are some helpful thoughts to help you make an informed decision:

1. There is no such thing as THE perfect decision:

Every decision has advantages and disadvantages. It is often more important to make a decision at all and to manage the consequences constructively than to wait for the perfect decision. Because even a non-decision is a decision.

2. flexibility and adaptability

are extremely important qualities that have a decisive influence on your success and life satisfaction. Therefore, the ability to learn from the results and adapt is often less important than brooding over missed opportunities.

3. advice and feedback:

Get advice from qualified friends, family or experts who have a different perspective or more experience.

4. list of pros and cons:

Of course, this is also helpful Compare the pros and cons of each option. What future scenarios could arise? Think about which ones align with your values and long-term goals.

5. and finally, what do your intuition and gut feeling tell you?

Listen to them, especially if all rational analyses do not lead to a clear result. Your gut and your intuition know what is good for you.

So have fun with your next decision. And if you need some supportive feedback from the outside, just write to me... :-)
