Mother's Day: Five reasons to celebrate your mum

My mother and I, even when I later became a mother myself, thought celebrating Mother's Day was silly. In fact, I found it embarrassing that it was necessary to set aside a day to remember all those mothers who without complaining, love and care for their children, dry their tears and are responsible for keeping the household running.
Shouldn't this most valuable task be appreciated and honored every day by children, husbands and society?
So for me, Mother's Day has always been an embarrassment, where you officially pretend that mothers have not been forgotten.
In addition, Mother's Day is of course a great opportunity for the economy to boost the money machine. All those bouquets of flowers, chocolates, restaurant visits, gifts... It's worth it...
But today I see things a little differently. It's a bit like Christmas. A few weeks before Christmas, I always think, oh, it'll soon be Christmas Eve again and feel that all the hype and preparation is a burden. But the closer the date gets, the more I get into the Christmas spirit. Anticipation sets in. I feel the same way about Mother's Day.
Mother's Day is an opportunity to honor the unique bond that connects us to our mothers. And let's be honest, it's better to be celebrated on this day than on none at all.
So, kids, celebrate your mothers. Celebrate them like there's no tomorrow. They'll definitely be happy...even if they might not expect it or admit it.
Five reasons to celebrate Mother's Day:
1. Unconditional love:
Mothers love unconditionally. Before you give birth to a child, you can't imagine how incredibly deep your love for your child will be. This love knows no bounds and is able to endure even in difficult times. As a consequence, this also means that as a mother you will never be free of worries again in a certain way. Our entire thoughts and feelings revolve around the happiness and well-being of our child. If the child is unwell, we are even worse off. Mother's Day reminds us to appreciate this special form of love.
2. Sacrifice and lifelong support:
Many mothers sacrifice their time, energy and often their own wishes for the well-being of their children over many years. Mothers are often the first to be there when we need comfort, advice or support. Their care and support are irreplaceable. Most mothers would give anything for their child. In the worst case, even their lives. Mother's Day is a time to honor this selfless devotion that mothers give to their children, but also to their entire families.
3. Life lessons:
Mothers teach us important life lessons, from basic values to practical skills. Mother's Day is a time to remember these lessons and appreciate the wisdom our mothers pass on to us.
4. Learn from our mothers' mistakes
Mothers are not perfect. Even though they always want the best for us, they make mistakes. We can be grateful for this too, because we can learn and grow from these mistakes.
5. Celebrate the diversity of motherhood:
Mothers come in different shapes and sizes. Whether biological mothers, adoptive mothers, stepmothers and grandmothers, Mother's Day recognizes and celebrates the diverse nature of maternal relationships.
Mother's Day is more than just an opportunity to give flowers; it is a time to express gratitude for motherhood in all its facets and to honor the love given to us through this special bond.
